Prince George News
Prince George County Public Schools will open for the 2018-19 school year on September 4, 2018. Parents/guardians of new students to Prince George are encouraged to call and schedule an appointment this summer as soon as possible at the school the child will be attending. Please click here or on the “Schools” menu tab for the address and phone information for each school. Registration for each student will take approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending upon completion and review of documents, thus the reason for scheduling an appointment to reduce wait time. Appointments are limited and fill very quickly; we encourage you to call early to schedule an appointment.
The school district will not schedule any student registrations on August 29, 30, 31 or September 4, 2018. Instead, student registrations will resume only by appointment beginning September 5, 2018. Thank you!
***If your child receives special services (IEP, 504, and/or health plan, etc.), please bring a copy of the paperwork with you to your registration appointment.***
All 6th graders must have the state mandated TDAP booster. State law prohibits 6th grade students from starting school without their TDAP booster. If you have not submitted verification of your child’s TDAP booster, please drop off the documentation at J.E.J. Moore Middle School’s main office.Prince George County Public Schools

Anthem Insurance Announcement
Staff has heard from numerous employees regarding both health and vision insurance effective July 1, 2018. We have reached out to Anthem and have been informed there was a glitch in their system when the initial cards were issued and certain information was not updated, including the standard vision rider. Anthem has assured us they are working on the issue and new ID cards will be regenerated and will specifically say vision on them. Per Anthem, an apology statement should be sent along with the new ID card. In addition, Anthem’s migration team is auditing all of the open enrollment changes to make sure everyone was loaded correctly and if any errors are found, they will be corrected immediately. Anthem will be sending us a bulk file of the new ID cards as soon as they are available – either late this afternoon or early tomorrow.
On behalf of Anthem, we apologize for all the inconvenience this has caused.
Anthem has advised the following solution if an employee had to pay out of pocket for a claim that was denied due to their glitch:
If they have paid out of pocket we need the following information to get the claim processed:
